PAYMENTS

Payment of monthly subs and the annual membership fee are made by Direct Debit.
Payments are managed by GoCardless, the provider trusted by Badminton England and are protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee.

Once your Direct Debit has been created, you will be charged the annual membership fee as well as any pro-rated subs for the month in which you join. You will also be added to the relevant monthly subscription which will begin on the 1st of the following month. GoCardless will always send email confirmation of all payment dates and amounts.

Membership Subscriptions and Fees Policy


1. MEMBERSHIP SUBSCRIPTIONS
1.1 Membership subscription fees (subs) will be set annually and agreed by the Committee at the AGM
1.2 When setting subs for the coming year, the Committee will take into account bank/
public holidays, planned closures of the venue and unexpected events such as inclement weather
1.3 Fees may differ for each class depending on age group, length of session, level of coaching offered and facilities offered, or a combination of these factors
1.4 Subs will be due monthly in advance, ordinarily on the 1st day of each month and are payable for each class attended
1.5 Subs will be paid by recurring Direct Debit
1.6 A membership is deemed to have started once a membership form has been received by the Club Secretary or a first session has been attended, whichever occurs first
1.7 If a membership starts after the first session of the month, a pro rated amount will be due immediately on joining for the sessions remaining in that month
1.8 If a Direct Debit has not been created/payment made within two weeks of a member joining, the Committee reserves the right to pause or cancel the membership and refuse admission to sessions

2. ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP FEES
2.1 An annual membership fee per member will be due at the start of every season (September 1st), or upon joining if a members joins after September 1st.
2.2 The annual membership fee will be set annually and agreed by the Committee at the AGM
2.3 The annual membership fee includes Badminton England membership which provides a range of benefits including insurance, as well as a contribution towards club running costs
2.4 The annual membership fee will be paid by Direct Debit

3. CANCELLATIONS, PAUSES AND REFUNDS
3.1 Members may cancel their membership/subscription at any time, by emailing any club official
3.2 There is no notice period required for cancellation, but members will not be eligible for a refund of any subs paid in advance
3.3 The member may cancel their recurring Direct Debit themselves or the Treasurer will
cancel the Direct Debit. It is the member’s responsibility to cancel the mandate if required.
3.4 Members may pause their membership for a defined period at the discretion and agreement of the Committee

3.5 If a member is deemed to have cancelled their membership, either by confirming in writing, or by cancelling their subscription/mandate, the annual membership fee will be due again should that member subsequently wish to rejoin

4. ANY OTHER BUSINESS
4.1 Any other matters related to subscriptions and fees will be decided by the Committee whose decision in any dispute is final
